The Office of Legal Affairs offers monthly open training sessions to UNC Charlotte staff and faculty on a variety of legal topics.

Managing Extended Medical Leaves of Absence: How the FMLA, the ADA, and the University’s Short-Term Disability Program Inform a Supervisor's Options
What should you do if an employee is hospitalized or given a diagnosis that keeps the employee out of work?  How much time off must you give them?  What kinds of accommodations might be warranted?  This session will outline University policies and applicable law governing medical and disability leave.  In addition, the presenters will identify University resources available to supervisors to manage or help them respond to their employees' extended medical leave requests.
