Amy Kelso joined the UNC Charlotte Office of Legal Affairs in 1997 after clerking for Chief Judge Gerald Arnold at the NC Court of Appeals for two years. As a transactional attorney, she advises University administrators on a variety of legal issues in public higher education law, including policy development and management, contract drafting and negotiation, education abroad, student conduct, athletics, administration and governance, facilities, risk management, and compliance with applicable federal and state laws and regulations. Prior to her legal career, she worked in academic publishing at UNC Press in Chapel Hill. Kelso received a BA in English from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a JD from the University of North Carolina School of Law. She telecommutes from Asheville, NC.
