University Policy 714, Biosafety, has been revised to bring the policy in line with current NIH Guidelines, the Biosafety in Microbiological and Biomedical Laboratories (BMBL) 5th Edition, and the UNC Charlotte Biosafety Laboratory Manual. In addition, the policy clarifies the roles of the Institutional Biosafety Committee, the Biosafety Officer, and the Office of Research Compliance.
