Public Records Requests

The Office of Legal Affairs is offering this page as a convenience to the public, so that interested parties may find answers to frequently asked questions and may more easily access commonly requested public records related to the shooting incident that occured on campus on April 30, 2019. 

Under federal law and University policy, the only information the University can provide about the alleged perpetrator is the student's name, major field of study, dates of attendance, enrollment status, and degrees and awards (including scholarships) received. That information has been provided to the media and has been widely circulated. If you would like for the University to provide it again to you personally, please email University Public Records Officer Tina Dadio at T.Dadio@uncc.edu.

To the extent UNC Charlotte maintains any information about the alleged perpetrator, this information is protected by federal privacy laws and may not be released. Any public information about the alleged perpetrator has already been provided to the media and widely distributed.
