Executive Summary: 

The University has no authority to use the funds allocated to it by the State of North Carolina for the purpose of making contributions to the campaigns of non-profit or non-affiliated organizations.

The University of North Carolina at Charlotte recognizes the positive impact many non-profit agencies not affiliated with the University have upon the citizen of the area and the state. Furthermore, the nature of funding of non-profit, non-affiliated organizations calls for contributions from individuals, corporations, foundations, and agencies. While we recognize the importance of such organizations and frequently contribute to them as individuals, The University of North Carolina at Charlotte has no legal authority to use funds allocated to it for the purpose of making contributions to the campaigns for such agencies.

Responsibility

The Vice Chancellor for University Advancement is designated as the institutional officer responsible for University adherence to this policy.
