Research

The Office of Legal Affairs supports the Division of Research by providing legal advice and counsel to departments charged with facilitating the University’s research mission. Office of Legal Affairs attorneys are available to assist units in navigating the complex federal and state regulatory schemes that apply to research conducted at the University, including but not limited to research involving human subjects and animals.  The Office of Legal Affairs collaborates with units charged with implementing export control regulations, privacy laws, health and safety regulations, and intellectual property laws that apply to University research. The Office of Legal Affairs also provides legal advice and support to campus partners in the administration of the University’s research misconduct policy and procedures, which are critical to ensuring the integrity of research conducted at the University.
